Spain will impose a compulsory quarantine on all persons coming from India, The measure, which will take effect on Wednesday, will apply to people who traveled via third countries since there are no direct flights between India and Spain, government spokeswoman Maria Jesus Montero said.
“This is a measure which our country has already adopted towards passengers from countries where a virus variant has been found,” she told a news conference following a weekly cabinet meeting.
The order signed by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, will be published tomorrow in the BOE and therefore includes a compulsory quarantine in the same line as the one already applied to other travelers from third countries in which different variants to those present in Spain circulate.
