The Hindu-vegetarian restaurant Govinda in Barcelona was inaugurated in 1986 and has since been an important reference in the vegetarian and Hindu gastronomy of the city. The Govinda Barcelona restaurant was opened in 1986, and is one of the pioneer vegetarian-Indian restaurants in Barcelona and is located in the 08002 districts in the heart of Barcelona next to the Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. The place is beautifully decorated with paintings and Hindu art pieces creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. We offer you a wide selection of healthy dishes, vegetarian food, with vegan options, and an extensive menu of Hindu vegetarian food. In our menu you will find, always available, more than 40 vegetarian dishes, mostly Indian, although you can also find international dishes, some of them vegan and there is always a varied salad buffet. All the dishes are prepared in our kitchen according to the Indian tradition (although many dishes contain garlic, onions and mushrooms), and the bread and desserts are always homemade. Among the dishes, the Thali- is a tray with a complete meal that includes the dessert and the bread, and between the drinks the lassi- a yoghurt shake of various flavours, and the water of roses and lemon. Some dishes are mild and others spicier, at your choice. Alcoholic beverages are not served – as they have no place in Indian vegetarian cuisine by altering the delicate flavours that constitute their excellence and perhaps, mainly, because they alter the spirit.
