Within the framework of the Procicat plan, the Generalitat de Catalunya has approved a series of measures that aim to contain the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Catalonia.
Nightlife and shows with music or dance activities
- Nightlife venues are being closed with the exception of venues that are fully outdoors.
- Regarding shows with music or dance activities that take place outdoors in which participants are not seated, new safety measures are also being applied:
- Wearing a mask remains mandatory.
- These venues can remain open until 3:00 am.
Regarding events with 500 or more attendees (for example, concerts) who cannot be seated:
- All attendees must take an antigen test or a PCR test no more than 12 hours before the event.
- Individuals who can prove that they have been fully vaccinated may attend.
- In addition, the organizers of these activities must have a specific action plan in place.
All outdoor shows, regardless of capacity, must keep an accessible and verifiable record of attendees for epidemiological tracing if necessary.
Masks
In general, masks are mandatory in the following three circumstances:
- closed spaces.
- outdoors if it is not possible to comply with physical distancing of 1.5 metres with other groups or bubbles.
- in dining areas while not eating or drinking.
The government also recommends wearing a mask in all other occasions, although it cannot make this mandatory as this power falls to the national government.
The measures will take effect from Friday, 9 July and are valid for 14 days, up to and including 23 July.
